Donald Trump Makes News Again!

Effective 9:05 pm EST, President Trump presented to the world his next Supreme Court Justice to serve in a lifetime position, till he dies or opts to retire.  Judge Brett Kavanagh, much to the chagrin of the liberals in America:  https://www.ncronline.org/news/politics/5-faith-facts-trump-s-supreme-court-pick-brett-kavanaugh

Kavanagh comes in as a replacement Roman Catholic to outgoing Catholic, Kennedy, retaining a Roman Catholic majority of 6 to 3 Jews.  Kavanagh is not only a Roman Catholic but a Jesuit, by training, and lectures at a Jesuit university today.  Jesuits are proverbial for one thing—death to the Protestant Reformation.  This has been successfully achieved under the first Jesuit Pope, Francis, on October 31, 2017.

“Since the court’s inception in 1789, there have been 91 Protestant judges named out of 113 total justices. When the high court was established, justices were chosen from the ranks of the Founding Fathers, who were overwhelmingly Protestant. Of these, 33 have been Episcopalian.

“In recent decades, the tables have turned completely. Currently, there are five Catholics, three Jews, and one unknown on the bench. The Catholics are chief justice John Roberts, and justices Anthony Kennedy, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Sonia Sotomayor. The Jewish justices are Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Stephen Breyer, and Elena Kagan. The latest to join the high court, Neil Gorsuch, is possibly a Protestant—specifically Episcopalian. But he hasn’t actually specified his faith…

Clearly, the days of a Protestant majority on the High Court are past!  What does this mean for us all?  There are three priorities that the Religious Conservatives are seeking out of Donald Trump, and from all appearances, they will achieve them:

1. Sanctity of the womb—reversal of the Roe v. Wade 1973 Supreme Court decision, making abortions legal in America. Since then, this nation has been slaughtering babies to the tune of 55 million+ over the past 44 years! “It’s estimated that fewer than one million abortions take place annually and more than 55 million abortions have been performed in the U.S. since 1973, based on accumulative data from the two primary sources of U.S. abortion statistics – U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Guttmacher Institute.”–  This averages to 1.25 million babies, over the same period of time: https://www.focusonthefamily.com/socialissues/life-issues/dignity-of-human-life/abortion-statistics
2. Sanctity of Marriage—reversal of the 2015 Obergefell v. Hodges, Supreme Court decision, making same gender marriages legal in America. This law has done more to change the Christian church than any other single judicial opinion.  Only in today’s news, a CNN legal analyst opined accordingly: “If senators truly want to know who poses a threat to abortion rights and marriage equality, I have some suggested questions. First, ask the nominee if he or she supports or denounces the idea of making the Bible, rather than the Constitution, the supreme law of the land. Alarmingly, we have leaders like Mike Pence, Mike Huckabee and others openly advocating for basing US laws on the Bible. You can hear it in their arguments to overturn abortion and marriage equality, which are predicated not upon public policy concerns but upon the Bible. 3. Sanctity of the Lord’s Day— reversal of the modern secularization of “the Lord’s Day”—Sunday. No single body has been more energized to seeing this legislation set in place than is the 1888 consortium known as “The Lord’s Day Alliance.”  In their own words, I cite their Mission: “The object of the Lord’s Day Alliance of the U.S. is to encourage all people to recognize and observe a day of Sabbath rest and to worship the risen Lord Jesus Christ, on the Lord’s Day, Sunday; and for that purpose to gather and diffuse information, to publish documents, to use the press, to cause public addresses to be made and to use other means as shall be expedient and proper to the end that the blessings of the Lord’s Day and the benefits of Sabbath rest shall be secured for all people.” http://ldausa.org/about/

For years Adventists have been warning the world of this eventuality, and as I pen these lines, these prophecies are shaping themselves to be fulfilled!  This will be the great test and challenge of our times—the authority of God or the authority of man?  To be obedient to God, or not to be, that is the question we face today!  To this, the Bible has not been silent, for in the coming event known as the Mark of the Beast, the ire of the dragon (Satan) will be directed against all those who are obedient to God’s commandments, statutes, and judgments.

The Apostle John, in failing health, wrote these lines: “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Rev. 12: 17).  The dragon’s wrath is against the commandments (law) of God, and by extension all who would accede to that law in their life practice.  I must hasten to say here though, that while I know, as do most of modern Christianity that the Sabbath day is NOT Sunday, but rather on the weekly Sabbath (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset, not the Gregorian Saturday—midnight to midnight),  I would be among the most vocal in denouncing any law enforcing that day any.  Why?  “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is [religious] liberty,” (2 Cor. 3: 17), and not tyranny.

According to the Bible, there is coming a time when we cannot buy or sell except we subscribe to this tyrannical system engendered by the Lord’s Day Alliance, of forced worship.  This decree is enacted and enforced, on penalty of “death” by the Protestants in the United States, under the prophetic code name, “The Mark of the Beast” (MOB).   Satan has inspired them to believe, however, that this MOB system is the receiving of “a computer chip” in our bodies, but while there are economic implications in this system, the foundation of it is “worship.”  Let’s see it in clear words:

“15  And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16  And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17  And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” (Rev. 13: 15-17).

Clearly, this economic system has a forced worship clause in the heart of it.  The challenge was not over the economics, but over the “worship.”  Mark this point with care, for we will shortly see it play out before our very eyes!  Just as we are seeing same-gender marriages played out before our eyes, in like manner we will see a Sunday-sacredness legislation (Lord’s Day legislation) enacted before our very eyes!  Here is more from the Bible on this question:

“9  And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10  The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation … and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.  12  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.” (Rev. 14: 9-12).

It is of interest to observe that those who “worship” the beast’s image system—for this is an image of the Roman Catholic Inquisition System—will receive the unmixed wrath of God, while those who “keep” God’s commandments are called “the saints,” and as such the true worshippers.  They do not receive the wrath of God, but his adoration!  On which side will you be, friend or foe, saint or sinner?  This is now your question to answer.  As for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

That this is not a matter to be trifled with, the last closing words of the Bible, describes all who will enter the Holy City in these words:

“12  And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be… 14  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie…17  And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.”  (Rev. 22: 12-17).

Here we see, in bold relief, that those who faithfully keep God’s commandments and believe on His Son as Saviour, will enter the Holy City, and I sharp contrast to their righteous characters, are those who are violators of all God’s commandments.  They are described as “dogs”—heathens, “sorcerers”—practicing witchcraft, “whoremongers”—practicing licentiousness, “murderers”—destroyers of human’s lives, “idolaters”—idol worshippers, denying worship of the only true God (YHWH), “liars”—those who practice not the truth.  All of these characteristics can be summarized in one word—disobedient, or lawless.

Here is Good News: the Holy Spirit is calling today, He calling you, He is calling me, to obedience in Christ Jesus.  Who will hear his voice today and turn to our God in loving repentance?  The choice is given to all of us, and the road we take will determine our destiny—a journey to the Holy City, there to live and reign with Christ, or a visit to the lake of fire, from which there is no life!  Choose carefully, choose righteously, and make the right choice today, in Jesus name, Amen.
