On August 19th, along with millions of Americans, I watched the DNC to hear the many voices vying for power, influence and control over this great nation of prophecy. While some viewers were watching to see the coronation of Kamala Harris, and others, what policies her platform will advance to attract their votes, I watched for a totally different purpose. I watched to discover any new trends in the direction of our nation and our world that are consistent with the headlines of Bible prophecy, and God allowed me to hear Sen. Raphael Warnock’s full speech. The part of greatest interest to me was when he invoked the Bible and invited Donald Trump to read it. That was an excellent suggestion, and I’ll say more on it below, after a short digression.
As a citizen of the USA and an Evangelist, I’m often led to navigate our imperfect world and try to see it through God’s eyes of Truth, mercy, love and grace. I also strive to be current on the cultural and political issues of our times to better admonish the flock of God, and in this essay, I will focus on the most dominant social issue of our times–ABORTION. It is the foundational public policy issue on which Kamala Harris’ DNC is built its campaign, and it is so widely promoted that they have stationed a mobile abortion clinic from Planned Parenthood, a few blocks from the DNC, offering free medication abortions and vasectomies! (The faux checkers are now actively attempting to deny this fact; do not let them get away with such a fraud.)
I could have written this article on the first night of the DNC, but instead hoped that some measure of humanity would raise its lovely head to nullify my silent observation, and it is with great disappointment I now go to press. I was mortified to see that at no point throughout the entire four days of that historic convention was an appeal made to the audience acknowledging the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, and that while they disagreed with his policies, they are publicly denouncing all violence against him as a person. Speaker after speaker went up to the podium and laid their fangs in him with the savagery of a saber-toothed tiger. Speakers from former presidents and members of Congress to FBI Director, an Astronaut, Educators, and many Celebrities and public influencers from Media and Hollywood, in one united voice they denounced Donald Trump as “dangerous,” “a plague,” and “a clear and present threat” to America’s socio-economic stability and world peace!
All this was amplified on a day when an active manhunt was in progress in the border State of Arizona, for a man who had earlier threatened to assassinate Donald Trump, only five short weeks from his being grazed by an assassin’s bullet while campaigning in Buttler, Pennsylvania. When such violent issues are glossed over by media and public policy leaders alike, they only pave the blood-stained path for other bad actors to form in line, because from their perspective, silence from the ruling class to the threat of assassination against a former president of the United States, is a quaint if not public endorsement and even encouragement of such savage deeds! Many of the former President’s opponents are today lamenting that he was not killed on July 13th, and are amplifying their messaging as a proverbial dog whistle for blood! But when a people get to the place where they no longer respect human life within the womb, they will, sooner or later, with the same callousness, extend their hatred towards life outside the womb. This is the true definition of Cancel Culture–physically erasing their ideological opponents from life, for good!
We now revert to Senator Raphael Warnock’s address; he gave a moving speech filled with contradictions, and it is to those contradictions that I now direct your attention. To many people in America, and most notably the Blacks or African Americans, Senator Warnock is the reincarnation of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as he is now the senior pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, MLK’s former congregation. In that role, I was hoping to hear a non-violent address from the successor to King’s pulpit, but what I heard was rather disturbing. Let’s take a read (video time markers are offset by #:## minutes):
“4:42 Are you ready to stand up in this moral moment? 4:46 Stand up for the best in the American covenant.. 1.5:43 Donald Trump is a plague on the American conscience. 5:57 He is a pres 5:57 he is a 5:59 clear and present threat 6:02 to the precious covenant. 6:05 We share with one another. 6:07 And yes, I, I saw him, I saw him 6:11 holding the Bible 6:17 and endorsing a Bible as if it needed his endorsement. 6:25 He should try reading it. 6:34 It says, do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with your God. 6:39 He should try reading it. It says love your neighbor as yourself. 6:43 It says in as much as you’ve done it unto the least of these, 6:47 you have done it also unto me. 7:00 I choose 7:03 the American covenant.”
“7:06 eplurbius 7:07 unum, “out of many one.” I choose January 5th. 7:10 I choose a nation that provides a path for 7:12 ordinary people and gives every child a chance. 7:23 And that’s Joe Biden’s America… 8:10 Not only is that 8:12 Joe Biden’s America, that’s Kamala Harris’s America 8:21 she was leading with Joe Biden 8:24 when we expanded the child tax credit, 8:27 … 9:41 we are the United States of America. We always dream about the future 9:48 and so forward 9:50 on women’s reproductive rights.”
Since the challenge was publicly given to read the Bible, I wish to take up the Preacher turned Senator on this holy invitation, and demonstrate to both he and the world, that the Bible cannot be mixed with politics and still come out with its original meaning or intent. First, the Senator called the appointment of Kamala Harris a “moral moment,” yet most of what he said and what she stands for are abominably immoral in God’s eyes! Please, let me explain, by first asking a few questions: How can we call this a “moral moment” when Kamala is demanding the slaughter of millions of babies in the womb? Are the preborn babies recognized in the Bible as belonging to the group known as “the least of these”? What does the Bible say about those in the womb; should they be destroyed as the property of the mother or protected as the possession of “their Creator, with certain unalienable rights,” among which “are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness“?
It is a known fact that Donald Trump has written and said many things that have offended a wide cross-section of people, and also he is perhaps one of the most misquoted persons on earth, yet my aim here is to address the Bible reading challenge posed, and will center the remainder of this discussion there. This way, no matter on which side of the political divide you lean, you can appreciate the authoritative finality from the Word of God as the terminal witness to all our questionings, especially questions surrounding the nature of that bundle of life which is developing inside a mother’s womb.
To be clear, Senator Warnock on the one hand, professes to choose a nation that gives a chance to “every child” while on the other hand, he is seeking for a nation that provides abortions on demand for any and every pregnancy, to terminate those fledgling lives by invading the privacy of womb. These two philosophies are diametric opposites and are opposed by a clear reading of the Holy Bible. How did we conclude this? By simply by heeding Mr. Warnock’s advice–“try reading the Bible.” So, now that we have read the Word of God, let’s see what it says and how it harmonizes or disharmonizes on the subject so welcoming to the DNC in general and Warnock, in particular–abortion on demand:
“10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven… 14 Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.” Matt. 18: 10, 14
Here, Jesus sees “the little ones” as numbered amongst “the least of these,” and as such, they must be protected. The most helpless of humans are those in the womb, their most essential season of life. Loose them here and they are lost for a whole lifetime! Save them here, and they will morph into adults, given the passage of time. They have no advocate, but intelligent humans, and just as animals have rights, these little humans also have life endowed upon them by our Creator, and they have “rights” that must be protected. Let that sink in with quiet thought and focused meditation, as we consider another Bible passage from the World’s Greatest Teacher:
“1 Then said He [Jesus] unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! 2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.” Luke 17: 1, 2.
Again, to “offend one of these little ones,” is amongst the greatest hostility that can be brought against God, contempt for the life of a helpless and indefensible human person! When we create a slaughterhouse for innocent humans, where is our humanity? Christ said, it is better to commit suicide than to practice infanticide; it is better to take a dive in the deepest ocean or sea with a 3,300 lbs. (1,497 kg) stone tethered to our necks than to kill or “offend” one of His “little ones!”
“13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” Ps. 139: 13-16.
So, before we were born, our names were registered in God’s book of life, and those who try to erase life will suffer life for life in the final reckoning of Divine judgment. Let me also hasten to expose the myth of “my body, my choice.” The infant in the mother’s womb is no more her body than is a fruit hanging from a tree, a branch. Why is this so? The little person growing inside the mother’s womb is in a sterile environment in her body, and that is why it is “rare” for a HIV-positive or COVID-19 infected mother to pass the disease to her gestating child(ren), since the child is NOT the same biological entity as the mother’s body, only that the child is being incubated within her! What a great honor it is to be the guardian of life, and what great betrayal of so sacred a trust for mothers to so wantonly sacrifice the embryo in her womb on the altar of sensual pleasure and or career! The fact too that men are today invited to perform vasectomies is while women abort the fruit of the womb, exposes the lie about the three exceptions being the driving force, but that abortion is being uses as “birth control,” and a “family planning” method–Satan’s artifice in global population and human extermination.
“4 ¶ Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jer. 1: 4, 5.
Those who say that that which is in the womb is a non-human entity, are simply lying to us, either deliberately or ignorantly, and with the Bible as our guide, God will give us the will and courage to endure. It is a troubling thought, but a great many black people in the Western World today are descendants of rape by the slave Masters! There is no pride in this: it is ugly, dirty, vexing, and loathsome, yet this is how many of us came to be alive today. Had our great, great, great, grandmothers been aborted, as horrible as that situation was for their mothers who had been raped, many of us who are alive today, would never have existed, in the first place. Truly, sin has left a crimson stain, and humans cannot sanitize it with the surgical scalpel, the vacuum suction, the surgical scissors, or the abortifacient pill or other chemical potions. God wants us to see sin as violence before Him and accept His only solution–the blood of Jesus Christ, which cleanses us from all sin. And in the end of it all, “affliction will not rise up a second time.”
“22 ¶ If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman’s husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, 24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.” Ex. 21: 22-25.
“22“Now if people struggle with each other and strike a pregnant woman so that she gives birth prematurely, but there is no injury, the guilty person shall certainly be fined as the woman’s husband may demand of him, and he shall pay as the judges decide. 23But if there is any further injury, then you shall appoint as a penalty life for life, 24eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise.” Ex. 21: 22-25, NASB.
This passage speaks to the father, mother, and the unborn child in her womb. It is to this law that Jesus referred when he spoke of “an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth,” for the one doing the “suing” would naturally be the father of the unborn child, and the encouragement that Christ gave in Matt. 5: 38, 39 is to “resist not” this evil, but to go the extra mile to make restitution for the cause of this suite brought on by a premature birth of a child. Yet, the law went further to state that if the child died in the altercation, then justice demands life for life–the death penalty! “
The inconvenience of an unplanned pregnancy has left many women feeling that they have no options, as a child appears to be a career-terminating problem. These challenges have caused society to see children as little devils, little curses, life-traps to limit our economic and educational progress, obstacles in our way. Yet, the Bible clearly teaches differently, it says, “3Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a real blessing.” Ps. 127: 3
The issue before us today is clear: humans want to have unbridled sex outside of the order that God has established. And setting aside for now, the thorny issues of rape, incest, and threat to a mother’s life, the majority of abortions today are not from this grouping. By far, over 95% of abortions today are from elective procedures outside the three exceptions, thus using abortions as “family planning” or population control. Sadly, the latest scholarship on the crime of rape is to not harshly punish the rapist but to harshly punish, yes, kill and destroy the child of rape instead. A study from Monash University concludes that “far from advancing women’s rights, capital punishment for rape is a regressive step for women’s rights.” I would argue that the Bible promotes such a practice to forever remove the evil and the threat of rapes. But if we employ vasectomies on men, and abortion to women, then this leaves a world where sexual exploitation can and will be practiced without bound and exposes the darker truth that society wants to have the “pleasure” of free sex without the “price” of owning up to the fruit of the womb, a natural byproduct of sex, by our Creator’s design intent!
In such a world, the woman will artificially have no physical burden to bear as witness to the violent act against her, and the sexually violent man will have no means outside of imprisonment, that will contain him from repeating the same offence upon an untold number of other victims. The principle of handing down capital punishment upon the unborn child, the only innocent party in most abortion cases, while leaving viable the perpetrators of its fertilization in the first place, is only evil; for rather than protecting the least of these, it eviscerates such helpless ones. How does God regard the abuse and destruction of “the least of these?” You be the judge!
We acknowledge that abortion is a complex issue with many different entry points which would require a whole book to expound upon, and while this article is by no means a comprehensive treatise on the subject of abortion, yet I refuse to close without giving hope to all who have been infected by this evil:
If you have participated in an abortion as either physician, patient or parent, you have not committed “the unpardonable sin,” and God will look favorably on you if you turn to Him in deep and sincere repentance. Jesus did not die to save the righteous, but he came to call sinners unto repentance and Heavenly Salvation, not willing that any should perish in the lake of fire, but that all of Adam’s repentant seed should pass from death unto everlasting life. So, if you feel a sense of guilt after having read these lines to Senator Warnock, and listened to the short Bible Study, this is a good reaction! God wants you to know how offensive sin is in His sight, and this “godly sorrow” will lead you to repentance, and a new life in Christ. It is intended to make you better and not bitter with God. There will be many former murderers, prostitutes, thieves, child-molesters, rapists, adulterers, homosexuals, etc. who will enter into the kingdom of God, not because they were so worthy, but because God’s forgiveness and grace are so abundant, yet so free, that is cleanses and saves sinners from the guttermost to the uttermost!
The broad way is never the right way, and “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Prov. 16:25. The right way is not necessarily the “easy” path, but it is the holy way, and the pen of Inspiration has also said, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2Co 12:9.
If you are challenged with a life terminating decision and want someone to pray with and for you, reach out to me, privately, and I’ll help you take your burdens to the Lord. To a great extent, barring the three exclusions, abortion was invented to do what Adam and Eve did in Eden–hide from their sin and their shame. But God is able to turn something shameful very beautiful, in His time. “Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.” Job 14:4. And though with humans it is impossible to make a sinner clean, with God He can turn a bad situation for the good! If we live in a world of quick fixes and microwave times, then God’s time will seem too slow, too long, and too painful, yet the greater the pain and shame, the more glorious the final reward.
