On March 31, 2025, among the many names nominated for offices in the
Turmp Federal Government was Project 2025 Co-author, Jonathan Berry, to the office of Solicitor General for the Department of Labor (DOL). And on October 7, Jonathan was confirmed by the US Senate in a 51–47 vote, to the role of Solicitor for the Department of Labor.
From their website, the DOL writes: “The Office of the Solicitor’s mission is to meet the legal service demands of the entire Department of Labor. As the Secretary of Labor and other Department officials seek to accomplish the Department’s overall mission and to further specific priorities, the Office of the Solicitor (SOL) provides legal advice regarding how to achieve those goals. In doing so, SOL ensures that the nation’s labor laws are forcefully and fairly applied to protect the Nation’s workers.”
What is not overtly stated here is that Jonathan Berry wants to correct the way Americans work and worship! In Project 2025’s Mandate for Leadership (MFL), Chapter 18, titled “Department of Labor and Related Agencies,” Mr. Berry, the sole author of this chapter, famously wrote, “Congress should encourage communal rest by amending the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) to require that workers be paid time and a half for hours worked on the Sabbath. That day would default to Sunday, except for employers with a sincere religious observance of a Sabbath at a different time (e.g. Friday sundown to Saturday sundown); the obligation would transfer to that period instead.”– Project 2025, MFL, p. 589.
It may seem quite magnanimous on his part to offer people of Faith an extra raise for working on their defined Sabbath day of rest and worship, but this is not to be taken as an innocent desire for public officials to adjust the work-life balance of employees, but rather a stab at shoring up the place of Sundy sacredness in our world. Do not let the option of a different day for Sabbath comfort you into thinking that this not an act of governmental overreach into our worship lives, for it is indeed the poison pill, that the enemy is using to blind our focus from the sleeping reality that he wants “Sunday” to be the recognized as “the Sabbath” with Congressional approval. Once this status is achieved, only time will tell how this will impact on our religious liberties, for it is the studied aim of Rome to cake Sunday the Law of the Land, and she has used all the levers of government to achieve this status, not just in America but around the world.
When, therefore, we see statements like this one from CNN News: “The Department of Labor held its first-ever prayer service for its employees this week, in a highly unusual move that mirrors an initiative at the Pentagon,” it should alert our attention to this despotic drive by Rome and other globalists to “make America Christian Again,” (MACA), and a foundational part of that move is to restore worship, then Sunday, as the central day of worship. When these institutions are firmly anchored, then the right circumstance, such as the planned Pandemic with the Wuhan virus, will cause labor and trade laws to make mandates, such as the preservation of Sunday as the Sabbath. This danger will usher in what the Bible calls the Mark of the Beast System.
Prior to his nomination, Johathan Berry was interviewed by The Catholic Information Center (CIC) in 2024, and he has expressed broad support for a government mandated day of rest, with that day being Sunday. His inspiration for this motif was the first Sunday laws issued by Roman Emperor Constantine, in the 4th Century, AD.

It is sufficient to note that the one who fantasized of seeing a Sunday legislation enacted in the Labor Laws by Congress, is now the legal expert in Chief to head up the DOL. And within weeks of his taking office, a most unusual and historic event took place–first-ever prayer service at the DOL, mirrored by a similar one at the Pentagon–attests to the salient truth that there is a national and global push to make Sunday sacred again, and that this will come at the expense of our personal freedoms.
As a Seventh-day Adventist observing the Sabbath on “the Seventh day” of the week (Saturday), as pointed out in Scripture (Gen 2: 1-3 and Ex. 20: 8-11), it becomes quite concerning that the moment for the last great conflict with the powers of Darkness, are much closer than we think. Looking forward to this time, Ellen G. White wrote the following Statement in the early 1880’s:
“A great crisis awaits the people of God. A crisis awaits the world. The most momentous struggle of all the ages is just before us… The question of enforcing Sunday observance has become one of national interest and importance. We well know what the result of this movement will be. But are we ready for the issue? Have we faithfully discharged the duty which God has committed to us of giving the people warning of the danger before them?”–Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 5, p. 711.3
