In Chapter three the subject of “worship” will float to the top, but it is a carry-over thought from chapter 2 wherein the King, upon receiving the clear and accurate interpretation of his dream, bowed himself down to Daniel and “worshipped” him.

Though Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged the person of the fourth man in the fire as “the Son of God,” the king was not yet surrendered to Him as his Lord and Saviour. And though he confessed, “there is no other God that can deliver after this sort,” yet, the king still saw YHWH as “the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.” In other words, God still had work to do on his stubborn stony heart, he was seeking to save the king, and every attempt up to this point still did not curb his stony heart, but one more test would confront the King, in Chapter 4.
